Hunter Winn, Founder & Licensed Contractor
I was born and raised in Sacramento, and construction has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My dad has been a licensed contractor for over 40 years. Some of my earliest memories are job sites, lumber yards, and long summer days working beside him.
After high school, I chased a dream of becoming a firefighter. I completed Fire Academy in 2013, moved across the country to work as a firehouse intern in Baltimore, and later served four years with CAL FIRE. I invested nearly everything I had into becoming a paramedic and eventually worked as a firefighter/paramedic in Northern California.
That career taught me discipline, composure under pressure, and something even more important — when people trust you, the stakes are high. You don't cut corners. You don't make excuses. You show up prepared.
After the pandemic, I felt called to build something of my own. I started Folsom City Carpentry not just to run projects, but to build a company that does things the right way — a company investors and homeowners can rely on, a company that thinks long-term.

We operate out of our own warehouse facility, purchase materials strategically in bulk, and focus on durability over shortcuts. I reinvest heavily into infrastructure because I'm not building this for a quick win — I'm building it to last.
